An Intimate Wedding at the Wakefield Grand, Quebec

Wakefield Quebec intimate wedding

Some weddings just have a certain glow to them, and this one at the Wakefield Grand in Wakefield, Quebec was exactly that — intimate, cozy, and completely romantic from start to finish. Between the candlelight, the lush florals, and the warm, relaxed feel of the venue, the whole day had this soft, storybook quality to it that made it an absolute joy to photograph.

Getting Ready and a First Look in Meech Creek Valley

The day began with getting-ready photos right at the venue, soaking in all the small details before things got underway. From there, we headed out to the stunning Meech Creek Valley for the couple’s first look; a gorgeous, natural backdrop that made for some of my favourite images of the day. There’s something about that valley’s light and beauty that just elevates portraits into something really special.

After giving the couple some quiet time together, we made our way back to Wakefield Grand to get ready for the ceremony.

A Gorgeous Ceremony and Cocktail Hour

The ceremony itself was stunning, set against the venue’s natural beauty and elevated by all those beautiful floral details. From there, guests moved into a relaxed cocktail hour while we snuck away for a few family portraits.

A Multi-Course Dinner and Candlelit Reception

This wedding’s reception was something else; multiple courses throughout dinner that was as delicious as it was beautifully paced, with speeches sprinkled throughout the courses rather than all bunched together. It gave the evening a wonderful rhythm, letting guests savour each course while still getting those heartfelt toasts along the way. The night wrapped up with a truly fabulous cake cutting that was just as gorgeous as everything else that day.

Cozying Up by the Campfire

One of my favourite features of the Wakefield Grand is that there is an outdoor fire pit and seating area. I did a few portraits of the bride and groom enjoying a cozy moment by the campfire and it was so sweet. It was the perfect, intimate close to a day that felt warm and romantic from beginning to end.

Why I Love Wakefield

Between the candlelight, the layered florals, and the cozy, intimate atmosphere, this wedding captured everything I love about shooting in Wakefield and the surrounding Quebec countryside.
