People interpret "elopement" in different ways, but for me, it means a smaller, more intimate wedding that primarily focuses on the couple's experience. Here are some examples of what your elopement day could look like (click the arrow below to see more).
You get ready and share a first look by the lake. An intimate ceremony follows on the deck, then champagne and appetizers with your closest people. After speeches and family portraits, you steal away for a private first dance as the sun sets over the water — maybe a canoe ride or a lantern-lit walk at blue hour. The night ends fireside at the cottage with the people you love most.

The day starts with a shared favourite breakfast at your Airbnb, then getting ready separately before a first look and then an intimate ceremony with just your witnesses. After a bubbly toast, you're off touring The County; lunch at a brewery, a cidery, scenic lakeside stops, and dinner at a vineyard. The day ends with a jaw-dropping sunset at Outlet Beach in Sandbanks Provincial Park.

Morning begins in the cozy nooks of your rented Irish cottage, finishing vows before a first look in a stunning valley. At the Gap of Dunloe, a short hike leads to a lookout point where you exchange vows against windswept cliffs and ocean views. After photos around Killarney National Park, you share a pint of stout in a cozy pub corner, then spend the afternoon sightseeing before sunset at Derrynane Beach.

Amanda checked every box for our photography needs. She photographed our intimate April wedding, surrounded only by immediate family in a cozy, romantic setting, and she immediately understood our vision. We wanted something a bit different from the typical “wedding” photos and were able to share inspiration and vibe ideas with her. She suggested splitting our shoot into two smaller sessions- one more traditional with family on the wedding day, and another the night before where we could have fun and capture candid, unique photos true to our style. It was the perfect recommendation.
Throughout the process, Amanda was kind, warm, and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. She asked thoughtful questions to get a clear sense of our vision and offered helpful suggestions whenever we were unsure. When the gallery popped up in our email, we were so excited, and the photos exceeded our expectations! We loved the whole experience and would highly recommend Amanda to anyone. Thank you, Amanda!

I’ve been a lover of 35mm film since learning how to develop it in my high school’s darkroom (it was a closet). Film preserves emotion in a way that is difficult to replicate in digital format, that’s why I include it in my elopement packages. You’ll receive a mix of film and digital photos, which allows me to provide you with emotion-driven, nostalgic images that blend documentary and cinematic styles.
I help guide you in planning your elopement experience, from deciding what kind of a wedding day you want, to where you want to say your vows. I remove the overwhelm by recommending locations, activities, and vendors by providing personalized elopement recommendations and consultation calls to help you create the most amazing elopement experience with the least stress.
Feedback I consistently receive from my couples is that I have a way of helping them feel calm and relaxed on their wedding day so that they can just enjoy themselves. I’m an easy-going person who is great at pivoting and taking things as they come; adaptability should be my middle name! The last thing I want is for you to feel stress on your day, and I will work hard to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Working with me is a little different than working with other photographers. Not only am I your elopement photographer, I’m your guide in making your wedding day the absolute best, most relaxing experience it can be. On top of that, you’ll receive an online gallery full of thoughtful, storytelling images with an emotional and nostalgic feel to them.

step ONE
Let's get started!
I love being a photographer; documenting real moments of the magic between people. When you invite me into your world, my goal is simple: you get to be fully present, and I’ll take care of the rest.
No stiff poses. No pressure. Just gentle guidance when you need it, space when the moments unfold naturally, and photos that feel true to you as a couple. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to connect.
Elopements today aren’t about running away in secret , they’re about creating a day that’s intentionally small, deeply meaningful, and true to you. Everyone will have a different definition, but I consider an elopement something that is typically more activity-based than a traditional wedding. It could involve travel to destination in Canada or abroad, hiking to a lookout point in Gatineau Park, or doing some other kind of activity that represents you as a couple. This activity doesn't need to be overly adventurous either, it could be as simple as eloping at your family cottage near Ottawa with just your best friends. Elopements also typically only involve the couple, and maybe a few of their closest friends/family.
Absolutely! I totally get it. You're eloping with intention, and don't want to feel like you need to smile for the camera all day. Lucky for you, that's not my style at all. I help craft elopements that leave lots of time to relax and breathe; I specialize in documentary photography, which means capturing authentic moments. We'll stop at certain points in the day for taking some intentional portraits, but the majority of the day will be spent with your partner simply enjoying yourselves!
I sure do! My typical coverage area is in the Ottawa region of Ontario, but I'm an adventurer at heart. I've travelled pretty extensively in Europe, so have quite a bit of experience there (my husband is actually from Ireland and I used to live there!). I am always looking forward to my next adventure so would love to hear about what you have in mind.
Need some inspiration? I'd love to help you brainstorm figure out your plans! Fill out the form here to inquire with me.
Definitely! I love researching new places and locations, or sharing my experience of different places that I've travelled to. All of my elopement packages include my assistance with finding the perfect location(s) for your elopement day, as well as an elopement guide customized just for you.
Yes, I help a lot with the planning. One thing that is unique about elopements, is that I play a much larger role in helping craft your day. From locations, to timing, to selecting activities to do or places to go, I help with all of it. Plus, all of my elopement packages include an Elopement Guide customized just for you!
I always recommend selecting your photographer as far in advance of your elopement as possible, since they can provide so much help with planning. For weekend dates during peak wedding season (May-October), I recommend booking 6-12 months in advance if you can. Weekday elopements usually have more availability than weekends if you're planning something more last-minute. Fill out my contact form here to inquire about your date/general time of year that you have in mind.
