An Intimate Wedding at The Knox in Merrickville, Ontario
In October 2025, I had the chance to photograph a really special wedding that took place in Merrickville, Ontario. When I first spoke with the bride on the phone, she told me the vibe she was going for was gothic mixed with a library aesthetic. I was immediately intrigued!
E & G are such a wonderful couple; you can see how much love they have for each other the moment you meet them. This was one of the most romantic, beautiful, and intentional weddings I have seen. I can’t wait to share photos with you below!
Getting Ready at Maple & Rose
E & G spent their wedding weekend at Maple & Rose Luxury Accommodation for their wedding weekend. This stunning venue provided such a gorgeous backdrop for their getting ready photos. The front porch is also where they did their first look, with their parents watching on the lawn.
They then proceeded to The Knox (the Groom and family walked, it’s that close!) where they had the most beautiful ceremony. There was hardly a dry-eye in sight.
Coffee Hour & Bridal Party Portraits
Following their ceremony, E & G had a “coffee hour” instead of a cocktail hour, since they just love coffee. No Go Coffee showed up in their adorable coffee truck, and even let me step inside for a quick minute to snap a few photos. We then headed back to Maple & Rose to photograph a few portraits of the bridal parties, before E & G did a first look of their reception area all set-up at The Knox; it was so so stunning!
Dinner & Reception
Next up was dinner, first dances, and a cake cutting. The room was lit so beautifully with a lot of ambient lighting, which really added to the moodiness of the photos.
Evening Portraits in Merrickville
Finally, we went on a stroll through Merrickville to finish the evening with sunset portraits for E & G. We walked past the shops to the Merrickville ruins, which made for a lovely Fall location for photos.
I hope you enjoyed a few of my favourites from E & G’s gallery. Merrickville is one of my most favourite places to shoot intimate weddings, it’s got everything you need; gorgeous small venues, beautiful outdoor settings, and small town charm. What more could you need for an intimate wedding?
